Kumrat Valley is a picturesque valley in the Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. It is renowned for its stunning landscapes, which include lush green forests, snow-covered peaks, sparkling rivers, and breathtaking waterfalls. The valley attracts many tourists, especially those looking for adventure activities such as trekking, camping, and hiking.
Visitors can also immerse themselves in the local culture and cuisine, embark on a jeep safari, capture photographs of the stunning scenery, and visit sightseeing locations like Jahaz Banda Meadow, Katora Lake, and Do Kala Chashma.
Travel between Utror and Thall Kumrat Valley is done via a jeep track, which remains largely untraveled for several reasons, including poor road conditions, a lack of basic amenities, and the apathy of government and political figures. The valley is lush with greenery, showcasing numerous meadows and an abundance of trees. Kumrat Valley marks the final boundary of Dir Kohistan, which consists of six villages: Patrak, Biyar, Barikot, Kalkot, Lamoti, and Thall.

The simplest way to get to Kumrat Valley is via Timargarha. About 8 km before Dir, a road branches off to the right leading to Kumrat. The road up to Sheringal is fairly decent, but beyond that, you’ll encounter one of the roughest roads you’re likely to drive on… all the way to Thal, which serves as the primary market area of Kumrat. The rocky and uneven road will definitely take a toll on your vehicles… it is highly advised not to use a vehicle with low ground clearance.
