Letters of Invitation are available without booking a tour, but you need to book hotel accommodation and arrange for private transportation. To obtain a Letter of Invitation, NAC must receive a Pakistan travel plan/itinerary from solo backpackers. You can get a Pakistan Tourist Visa online at the E-Visa Portal
Go to the Pakistan E-visa Portal and register. Click the Tourist Visa button under Visa Categories. It will lead you to the info page about tourist visas. If you click Apply now, you’ll be prompted to create a new account or log in to an existing account.
Once registered, you can start your application. You must set aside an hour for this, as it may take an hour or more to complete all the forms. Most of the questions are unnecessary, but you have to fill out the entire form.
If you upload your complete travel plan and travel history with your tourist visa application, you are more likely to get approval faster. You need to pay the visa fee to the Pakistan Government for a tourist visa once you complete your application. The visa cost varies by nationality. You can pay with a Visa or a MasterCard. Sometimes payments are rejected due to system issues, but you may try 4 to 5 times, and they will be accepted.
Payment made, and your payment has been completed before you can reapply; otherwise, you will not be able to proceed with the application. When you submit, you will receive an email confirming the application submission. Visa approval takes 5-7 working days according to the e-visa portal, but turnaround time can be much quicker. If you haven’t heard anything after 7 working days, contact them directly via the e-visa portal. They can demand additional documentation from you.
It is a new category announced by NADRA, replacing Visa on Arrival. Under this, tourists can apply for the visa in their Inbox and receive an electronic travel authorization. Tourist Visas will be stamped on arrival at the airport by the immigration officer. Pakistan visa system is being updated by the authorities regularly, and things are changing during the COVID period. The Pakistani government has fully reopened the country to tourists, and you can apply for visas online as you could before COVID-19.
