Lulusar is a lake situated close to the Naran Valley in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. In Pashto, the term “sar” refers to “top or peak.” Lulusar designates the mountains that house the lake, making it the lake of Lulusar. It can be found at coordinates N35.0804 E73.9266, sitting at an elevation of 11,200 ft (3,410 m) above sea level.
The lake serves as the primary source of the Kunhar River, which runs through the entire Kaghan Valley, passing through Jalkhand, Naran Valley, Kaghan, Jared, Paras, and Balakot before it merges with the Jhelum River. Lulusar is located 48 kilometers from Naran along the Naran-Babusar route. This lake also marks the historical site where 55 individuals involved in the 1857 war of independence were captured.
