Bahrain (Torwali: بحرین; also spelled Behrain), previously referred to in Torwali as Bhaunal, is a town situated in the Swat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, approximately 60 km north of Mingora at an altitude of 4,700 ft alongside the Swat River. Located in the Swat Kohistan region, it is named Bahrain (meaning “two rivers”) because it lies at the junction of the Daral and Swat rivers. It is famous for its riverside tourist accommodations, local crafts, and the view of where the Daral and Swat rivers converge. Additionally, it acts as a base camp for the trek leading to the Daral and Saidgai lakes. Bahrain serves as the administrative headquarters of the Bahrain Tehsil.
